HUGE congratulations to Shaun, Lactic Turkey and the rest of the gang. What a journey this has been for such an amazing event. Something, at last, for The West – our tourism and economy.

The Hillary trail run event is approved! Auckland Council have just granted a 3-year consent so we’re all go for 14 March 2015.

With this awesome news entries are now officially open!! The 80km is pre-booked to 60% of capacity already so get in quick. Choose from the 80kmSkyMarathon, the 34kmSkyRace or the 16km. Something for everyone!The Hillary has been included as part of the newly announced 2015 Oceania Sky Running Series. This is awesome given the event is only due to have its second running in 2015. The inclusion in the series will attract a bunch of Australians and New Zealand’s keen to score points in the series and provide some amazing promotion on both sides of the Tasman and beyond.

The Hillary follows a variety of terrain and scenery – many claim a magical pull of the trail and keep coming back for more. Stunning views throughout the trail, rugged West coast beaches, magnificent native bush including the hundreds of year old native Kauri trees. Past large waterfalls and sand dunes, along cliff tops or through marshlands – there is something for everyone.
