Auckland Council wants to know your worst weeds & pests

  • This consultation closes at 4pm on Friday 27 November 2015.  Council will consider all the comments received in preparing a new regional pest management plan.  All the pest management programmes in the new plan will be subject to the cost benefit analysis required by the Biosecurity Act 1993.   The new plan will be notified for public submissions in 2016.

Please make an online submission HERE – if you need any help yell out BUT please just do it.

Onehunga WeedFor a lot of Piha folk ‘Onehunga Weed‘  would be close to top of the list.

Otherwise known as ‘summer prickles’ Piha is smothered in it and it spreads very easily.

Cape IvyOr is it Cape Ivy?   This weed is out of control in Piha.

From Piha Hill, to the Domain, roadsides and banks it’s taking over.

This is the weed that has been partly sprayed near the Piha Lagoon boardwalk.

Climbing dock

It may be climbing dock ?  Ghastly thing with tuber roots like kumara.

Whatever your worst weed is tell Council – they want to know.
