New alcohol bans in effect 31 Oct 2015
The Waitakere Ranges Local Board has undertaken to review 11 existing local alcohol bans in its local board area
Alcohol bans prohibit the consumption of alcohol in public places and are enforced by the New Zealand Police using powers of search, seizure, and arrest. Penalties include an infringement fee of $250.
Update 16/5/15: The women on the Local Board will be making this decision as Steve Tollestrup is on Waitakere Licensing Trust and Neil Henderson and Greg Presland are both on the Portage Trust : all considered conflict of interest.
