Rates and valuations – financial help

With the rates increases in the news lately I thought I would remind everyone that ‘rebates’ are available to those that qualify.

The amount of rebate you will qualify for will vary on:

  • the amount of your Auckland Council rates for 2015/2016
  • the number of children or other dependents you support
  • your gross income and any overseas income for the tax year ended 31 March 2015

If you choose to pay your rates in full (plus any outstanding arrears from the previous rating year) by the first instalment date, you will qualify for a discount of 1.4 per cent.
