Auckland Transport (AT) continue to destroy natives
Year One and I thought ‘You’re joking!’ Year Two and I was ‘annoyed’. Year three and I was gobsmacked but now, after four years, I’m really pissed off.
Yes : AT’s contractors, four years in a row, have mowed and weed-eated Beach Valley Road Project’s roadside natives.
Hebes, Astelia, Carex, Knobbly clubrush, Meulenbekia, Oioi and Dianella nigra have all been destroyed by the idiots that seems to work with their eyes closed.
I have engaged with the ‘boss’ and offered to supervise their work. I have begged them to just stay away – we do it! I’m ready to throttle them.
You see by now this area should only need weeding annually NOT 2 or 3 times a year. But while AT continue to kill the roadside natives the damn weeds will continue to grow.
Auckland Transport – STOP IT.
Below: photos of some of the areas we’d like AT to just leave alone. 2nd and 4th photos: Dianella nigra and hebe chopped up by the idiots
