Providing a passive recreation area in Piha
Plus an off-road short-cut walk between the Art Gallery and Glen Esk Road
There has been talk over the years of having ‘short cuts’ to get around Piha and especially to keep kids safe from road traffic. Here is one . . . .
“The aim is to restore the Piha Stream precinct on the Regional Parkland between the Art Gallery and Algernon Thomas Green Reserve in Glenesk Road. We’re very excited about working in this publicly owned area that is so close to the village and will give a great passive recreation area and a pleasant off-road short-cut walk between the Art Gallery and the AGT Reserve on Glenesk Road.” says Piha CoastCare
On Sunday 29th May CoastCare will be planting some Puriri and Pohutukawa trees on the open areas, for future shade, and also do some stream-side weeding in preparation for future planting.
