Western Leader picks up story of  Fiona

Fiona Anderson QSM December 2015“If everybody did what they could to help those in need then the world would be a better place.”

This is the thinking of Fiona Anderson who receives a Queen’s Service Medal for being a stalwart volunteer of the Piha community over the past 15 years.

Her philosophy on life also includes that of Mahatma Gandhi – to be the change you wish to see in the world.

“I’ve got more than enough so I can give some of it away,” she says.

Anderson runs the Piha Domain Motor Camp and is affectionately known as Camp Mother.”

    Wonderful that there is a way that one can get recognition for those who do good in the community, who don’t want the accolades they just want to get things done well for people. Always looking for the good in people…. lol Fiona.
