C’mon Auckland Transport – unsafe for all

No Comments 14 June 2016

This accident happened on May 7th How long, Auckland Transport, before it’s fixed? From May 7th to June 14th this pedestrian path has slowly eroded so  that now it’s too dangerous for pedestrians to walk past. 9/5/16 From AT: “Dear Bobbie,  Thank you for contacting Auckland Transport regarding the saftey fence on the corner of Beach […]

Now we know it is 50k

3 Comments 08 June 2016

Auckland Transport has installed 50k signs It’s taken a long time but Auckland Transport finally comes to the party. Up until very recently the only sign of the 50k speed limit was that ‘decal’ on the road. After heaps of lobbying AT has finally put up a legal 50k sign so everyone knows that is the […]

The fence is the problem now

2 Comments 07 May 2016

Beach Valley Road Project had a ‘deal’ with AT Auckland Transport (AT) said they’d remove the fence when the plants grew The plants grew but AT changed their mind and won’t remove it. Have a peep through that gap that a motor bike made and see how easy it is to see the traffic coming […]

Great response Auckland Transport

3 Comments 24 April 2016

A quick response from Auckland Transport On April 14th I contacted Auckland Transport about the poor maintenance of the Piha Beach car park. The pot holes were patched within 8 days.  A great response.     Not the best job but an improvement for sure. That’ll make it easier for bikes and pedestrians. Thanks

Is it really that hard ?

No Comments 19 February 2016

Is it really that hard Auckland Transport ? Too often we hear residents complaining of speeding traffic between Piha Hill and the Karekare turnoff ?   I dread the day a car vs person happens. So I checked it out. Auckland Transport has put a ‘people walking’ sign up.   Photo bottom left:  The only sign it’s a 50km zone is its […]

Because you are part of environment

2 Comments 22 October 2015

Because humans are part of the environment Today the vegetation close to this ghastly fence was cut back to make sure drivers pulling out of Beach Valley Road had good vision up Seaview Road so they could do so safely. ‘People are part of the environment‘ is something we took on board when starting this project.  If we […]

Is this pedestrian crossing ?

1 Comment 01 April 2015

Concern expressed this looks like a pedestrian crossing It’s not unusual to see people standing at either end of this waiting for a gap in the traffic and then just stepping out. The painted traffic hump is right outside the entrance to the toilet block and crosses to the Piha Store. It’s being treated, mistakenly, […]

Piha Fishing Club . . . mischievous communications

2 Comments 01 February 2015

Mischievous communications regarding Piha Fishing Club. From March ’11 to Jan ’14 : Let’s have the truth left: emails between Piha R&R President,  Local Board Chair and myself. Recently at the Bowler Graham Trottman said to me at the bar that he and I needed to talk because I was responsible for ‘something to do with access […]
