Stop taking car parks !

“Due to the existing planting at this location, pedestrians experience difficulty walking through this grass area.”

walking around PihaLeft: Easy pedestrian access prior to the recent planting.  Remove the plants that are hindering the pedestrians, clear the weeds and leave the parking alone !!!

If  Huw Hill-Male, of Parks West, or the Local Board or anyone had consulted us, the people, on this new planting we would have pointed out how 80% didn’t fit in with the ‘plan’ of this area.

When consultation is done and complete.   When plans are agreed on.  Don’t override without returning to the parties concerned.  It’s not democratic!

Now Piha’s Ratepayers and Residents, again, are trying to have it changed.  Have they asked you?

SEAVIEW ROAD, PIHA – PROPOSED TIMBER EDGING

Agenda of Waitākere Ranges Local Board – 12 November 2015

  1. Auckland Transport is has received concerns that have been raised by the Piha Ratepayers and Residents’ Association with regards to safety issues experienced by pedestrians when walking along Seaview Road, Piha.
  2. At present, timber edging is provided on the southern side of Seaview Road to provide a walking area for pedestrians.  The timber edging starts in the vicinity of the Piha Community Library and continues up to the western end of Seaview Road. However, a gap in the timber edging was provided east of the Piha Domain access way, to allow for vehicle parking.  The pedestrian movement at this location was intended to move south from the road edge, through the grassed area, and connect back to the road edge west of Piha Domain access way.  However, due to the existing planting at this location, pedestrians experience difficulty walking through this grass area.

When consultation is done and complete.   When plans agreed are agreed on.  Don’t override without returning to the parties concerned.  It’s not democratic  FULL STOP
