A Council staff member came to inspect the debris on the Piha Domain sport field this afternoon.

It was too late today but council workers will be returning first thing tomorrow, Sunday, to fence the field off to ensure no one gets hurt by running on it in bare feet or falling on the debris.

In the mean time our kids are having fun with the goal posts seeing who can climb the highest.

In the mean time here is a message from Waitakere Ranges Local Board:  “I have been contacted by several people about the state of the sports field at the Domain. I have just been told by Parks that the contractors have been out and have been removing harmful material from the field and that they are on their way to bring back fencing to fence off the field. I will find out how this happened and report that on this Facebook Page. Apologies from the Waitakere Ranges Local Board, Sandra Coney, Chair”
