Kauri Dieback Tour 9:30am Saturday 28 March

KauriEF1aTake a free guided walk from Anawhata Road to Piha to see where kauri dieback was first found  [See note below**].  Stay for a talk on the work being done to protect the kauri forests of the Waitakere Ranges.

The walk will follow the Pole Line track to the Maungaroa Ridge Track, then the Maungaroa Lookout track to come out at Glenesk Road.

Bring lunch to have in the Sir Algernon Thomas Green from 11.30am and the Waitakere Ranges Local Board will provide refreshments.

** NOTE: Kauri Dieback was first identified on Great Barrier Island in the 1970s so I’m sure they mean ‘where kauri dieback was first found in the Waitakeres.’
